At Expert Cosmetic Solutions we use Candela for our Laser Vein Removal. It is a process of which the laser beam is positioned along the vein and to the affected areas. The heat from the laser causes the walls of the broken capillaries to collapse inward and disappear resulting in clearer skin. The destroyed capillaries are reabsorbed by the body without affecting the surrounding tissue.
How it works
The process of Laser Vein Removal is commonly used for Telangiectasia (broken capillaries/spider veins). This is achieved when the laser light is absorbed by the red blood cells within the vessel, this conversion from light to heat will increase blood temperature and will result in thickening of the blood, causing it to collapse and seal. Results can usually be seen instantaneously. If not, the body will continue to slowly breakdown and extract it via the lymphatic system.
You need an initial course of 3-6 sessions of laser vein removal. Laser appointments are once every 4 weeks and once you finish the initial course of treatments we recommend coming back for maintenance once every year (preferably in winter.) Maintenance will help to maintain the reduction you have achieved and is dependant on lifestyle factors, sun exposure and if it’s hereditary.
Pre-Treatment Care
Stay out of the sun or solariums for at least two to four weeks before your treatment. Do not use any form of tanning throughout your treatment – this includes accidental sun exposure during daily activities.
Sun exposure before and after laser treatments will increase the risk of complications or side effects, such as pigmentation and burns.
Do not use self-tanning lotions or sprays for two weeks before your treatment. The procedure may have to be postponed if you have tan on.
Do not wax, pluck or bleach for two before and after your treatments, this will increase the risk of complications.
Do not use Retin A for two weeks prior to treatment.
Do not use contraindicated drugs for six months prior to treatment.
Aftercare
Apply Aspect Dr soothing gel for 3 days post treatment, for additional cooling a cool compresses or ice pack for comfort can be added after initial treatment
Aspect Dr Redless is recommended post treatment for healing and can be incorporated into your normal skincare routine to help prolong results
Wash face with a gentle cleanser and cool water 48 hours post treatment
Do not use a scrub for up to seven days after treatment
Do not wax the area for seven days
Apply moisturiser and sunscreen (SPF 50+) every day after 3 days post treatment.
Avoid sun 2-4 weeks post treatment
Avoid activities where you are likely to perspire heavily for 24 – 48 hrs
